Call for Papers

The 3rd International Conference on Mechanical Engineering and Mechanics (3rd ICMEM) will be held during October 21-23, 2009, in Beijing, China. The conference venue, Beijing Friendship Hotel, is about 20 minutes drive away from Bird Nest and Water Cube, the most famous national stadiums in the world. The conference includes keynote speeches, plenary sessions, panel discussions, presentation sessions and excellent paper selection.

The last two conferences (ICMEM2005 and ICMEM2007), sponsored by Nanjing University of Science and Technology (PRC), Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University (USA), Technische Universitaet Chemnitz (Germany), Kyushu University (Japan) and City University of Hong Kong (HK), were held in 2005 and 2007 respectively. There were 722 registers in all and 793 papers were accepted in the proceedings and fully indexed by ISI Proceedings (former name ISTP) in January 2006 and February 2008.The delegates came from USA, United Kingdom, Germany, France, Canada, Japan, Korea, Singapore, Australia, Indian, Switzerland, China, China Hongkong and other countries or regions.

During October 19-25, 2009, CMES (Chinese Mechanical Engineering Society) will host the ICOMES（International Congress Of Mechanical Engineering Societies）in Beijing. The seven academic activities, including the 3rd ICMEM and the ICOMES, will compose “the 2009 CMES Annual Conference”.

The theme of the 3rd ICMEM is “Energy Conservation, Disaster Reduction and Environment Protection”. The conference scope will place emphases on Critical structure health monitoring theory, method and application, Disaster reduction and defense mechanics, Theory and methodology for sustainable product development and Green manufacturing. Original research papers, in mechanical engineering and mechanics of new theories, methods, algorithms, experimental and applied researches etc., are solicited.

The excellent papers will be selected from the accepted papers by Programming Committee of 3rd ICMEM according to the originality, theoretical significance, practicability, systematization and application of the papers, and recommended to the Chinese Journal of Mechanical Engineering and EI.

Authors should submit full paper before May 30, 2009. This is a hard deadline and no extensions will be given.

Each paper should clearly state the purpose, methods and conclusions of the work. Please indicate the corresponding topic of your paper. Don’t forget the personal messages that include author full name (please including Chinese name if the authors are Chinese), nationality, affiliation (employer, working unit), email, phone number, fax number, personal contact address, etc.

Please submit papers through ICMEM website papersubmit@icmem.org. All submitted papers should be in the forms of PDF and DOC file simultaneously and are to be limited to a maximum length of 6 A4 pages including figures, tables and references. The paper template will be available on http://www.icmem.org/(after 20 November, 2008)
